Applying for Funding

Specialist support

If your group is:

  • an ethnic minority community group, or
  • based in an area of social housing, or
  • run by disabled people

you can get free one to one support with your fundraising from the Resource Centre.

Ethnic minority community groups can also get fundraising support from BMECP

If you are a group of refugees, you can also get support from the BASIS project, based in London, but offering services across the country

If your group is based in one of the neighbourhoods supported by the Trust for Developing Communities, they can help with your fundraising.

If your organisation employs paid staff, or are you raising funds to employ staff, and you work in the social care and health areas, you can get help from the Performance Development Service run by Impetus.

PDS has a database of grant making trusts which can be searched to give you a list of appropriate trusts to apply to. Ring to make an appointment or you can send the detail of the project that you are raising funds for and they will email you the search results.

The PDS can also provide support around developing a fundraising strategy. This may well include business planning and other organisational health checks.

Brighton and Hove City Council Communities Team may also be able to help, depending on capacity.

Alternatives

If you do not fit any of these criteria, there is NO FREE one to one support available locally for your group.
