Sources of Funding
Some useful websites
The internet is now the shop window to the world. It is important that you develop a donations page on your own website as well as using some of the new websites that have been developed to help charities raise funds from wealthy donors. Recent research has shown that donors are more loyal to a charity if there it has a good fundraising page that makes donating easy. Keep your text interesting and simple. If you need help with the wording then ask BCP for a marketing specialist's time.
These websites can help you publicise your need for funding.
The Big Give is the idea of Alec Reed, founder of Reed Recruitment Group. The Big Give is fully funded by the Reed Foundation. It is free to users, and any registered UK charity may register and post their projects on the site.
The Guidestar website has been in the news recently. It copies over information from the Charities Commission website but you can register and put in more info, much like The Big Give, to enable potential donors to donate to you.
