Global Community Links

Small grants are available to community & voluntary sector groups with links in a developing country. The grant is to enable groups to develop public understanding of global development issues; this will be around building knowledge and understanding about the Millennium Development Goals, global interdependence and effecting change towards reducing global poverty.

The grants are small and short term (£1,000 - £2,000 to be spent over 4 months & £7,000 - £10,000 to be spent over 9 months) and should enable the groups to organise events, receive training from development education centres (such as BPEC) or develop resources to be used in the wider community, amongst other things.

The second round of calls for bids for grants opens on 9 August, with a deadline of 1 September 2010. Grants in this round will need to be spent between:

· 1 December 2010 and 31 March 2011 for a 4 month grant

· 1 December 2010 to 30 August 2011 for a 9 month grant
