National Youth Volunteering Programme
V is investing over ?70m for the next three years to fund a range of organisations to deliver activities that have a transformational impact on youth volunteering in England. The funding will lay the foundations for a vibrant, coherent and sustainable infrastructure of youth volunteering in England, as well as stimulate the creation of new and innovative volunteering opportunities that will capture the imagination of young people and harness their skills and talents to make a difference in their communities.The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 10 August 2007 (5pm).

First Round Open to Applications: Grants of up to ?2,500 are available to young people aged 16-25 in England who want to make a difference to their communities by setting up exciting and creative voluntary projects. Landfill Tax Credit Scheme
Previously known as the Onys Environmental Trust, Veolia has changed its grant making policy. Award recipients now need to be within 5 miles of a Veolia facility and for projects costing more than ?25k, minimum 20% of funding must already be secured. Grants range from ?5k to ?150kNo deadline

Viridor Credits - Cash for Communities

Over the years, Viridor has distributed over ?52 million and supported over 1,000 community and environmental projects.Established in 2002 Viridor Credits is an independent, not-for-profit organisation charged with distributing funding provided by Viridor Waste Management in order to support environmental, conservation and community projects. This distribution scheme is now called the Landfill Communities Fund. Communities within a five to ten mile radius of Viridor managed landfill sites are entitled to apply for funds. Brighton & Hove is just within 10 miles of two sites, one at Small Dole & the other at Beddingham. Applications can be made for projects that fall into one of three categories: ? To provide or maintain a public amenity, ? To conserve or promote the conservation of a natural habitat or species, ? The trust was set up by author J K Rowling to support charitable causes. The trust has two broad areas of funding. Research into the causes, treatment and possible cures of multiple sclerosis. v, the charity for youth volunteering has announced details of the 2008 Match Fund Programme. The programme brings together private sector partners and charities to create innovative volunteering opportunities. It offers match funded grants to registered charities, social enterprises, companies limited by guarantee, and community interest companies (all with charitable aims) based in England.Grants that match up to 100% of any new private sector investment for youth volunteering projects in England are available. v has up to ?15 million available to match against up to ?15 million of private sector funding, which equates to an investment of ?30 million in the voluntary sector for youth volunteering. Applicants must secure half of the funds required for the project form a private sector funder, which v will then match fund. There are two deadlines for receipt of applications: ? Round 1 - 5 pm on Friday 29 August 2008 for projects starting in January 2009. ? Round 2 - 5 pm on Friday 31 October 2008 for projects starting in March 2009.
