Re-launch of Sportsmatch

Sport England has announced that Sportsmatch has been re-launched with updated criteria and a new online application facility.The minimum award available is ?1,000 (?500 for schools) and the maximum is ?50,000. The minimum partnership funding of ?1,000 (or ?500) must come from one eligible source - a number of businesses/trusts/individuals cannot club together to make up the minimum sponsorship. An organisation seeking sponsorship should be a properly constituted organising body involved in sport. This includes governing bodies, sports clubs, charities, local authorities, schools/colleges and voluntary youth organisations. Applications can now be made on the Sportsmatch website with help available over a dedicated telephone line. There are no closing dates but all supported projects must be completed by 31 March 2009.

Refugee Integration Awards Scheme

This scheme seeks to encourage the potential of refugees as social entrepreneurs.Grants are available for between ?500-?5,000 to small groups of refugees and individuals to set up projects that support refugees to achieve their full economic and social potential. Additional support will be provided to projects by Unltd, this includes training opportunities, tools and resources, to help the development and skills of applicants. Research on the Transmission of Drinking Cultures: Media Influence

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation has launched two new Calls for Proposals to fund research and development projects under a number of priority themes, each of which has its own committee.A maximum of ?100,000 is available under this Call. The Foundation wishes to fund one primary research project on the influence of the media on young people aged 14?18 years and their drinking cultures. The research project should focus on the media most popular with young people. The following areas of media are expected to be included: Television. Magazines. Radio. Internet. Grants are available to any individual or organisation in the UK providing they are capable of delivering the research. The deadline for proposals is 24 September 2008.

Resource Recycling Awards 2008

The Resource Awards were set up to identify, promote and reward the achievements of community-based and not-for-profit recycling projects. The awards take place at the Community Recycling Network (CRN) annual conference, which this year will be held in London on 4 June 2008.The winners of the project awards receive the following: ? A cheque for ?2,500. ? A recycled glass award. ? High-profile coverage in Resource magazine. The Individual Contribution award is a non-financial award. The winner receives a year?s subscription to Resource magazine and a recycled glass award. The deadline for nominations is 19 May 2008.

Respect for Taking a Stand Award

This Home Office scheme seeks to reward ordinary people that have made real improvements in areas across the country by taking a stand against anti-social behaviour. Each winner will recieve ?1000, plus there is a top award of ?5,000 for the overall winner.Nominations close on 31st January 2007

Royal Bank of Scotland - Supergrounds

Dream Playgrounds Competition
Primary schools in England, Scotland and Wales have the chance to win a ?100,000 Dream Playground in this competition.Ten schools will receive ?10,000 to be used to improve their playgrounds and one school will qualify for a ?100,000 award to be used to transform their school's playground into a 'dream playground'. Anyone can apply on behalf of a primary school - the head teacher, another teacher, parent etc - but they must be over 18 years old and have the authorisation of the head teacher. Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA)

The Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA) has once again launched its Call for Entries to the RIBA Awards for 2008. RIBA Awards, launched in 1966, are given for buildings that have high architectural standards and make a substantial contribution to the local environment. They celebrate the very best of British architecture both regionally and internationally.Prizes from the different awards vary from plaques and certificates to cash prizes of up to ?20,000. The Awards follow a pyramid structure as follows: It is expected that all applications will be designed by an architect who is a chartered member of RIBA , RIAS or RSUA; or by an architectural practice, at least one of whose full-time principals is a chartered member of those institutions; or by an architect who is an International (honorary) Fellow of the RIBA. Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Awards

Property developers, engineers, planners, architects and surveyors are invited to enter this award scheme to raise the profile of the vital contribution they make to society. The awards recognise a full spectrum of organisations and projects, from small schemes achieved by the vision and persistence of one individual, to multimillion-budget, globally recognised developments.Winners from each category in each of the regions will go through to the grand final which takes place in October 2008. Projects, or distinct phases of projects, should have been completed between 1 October 2004 and 30 September 2007. For the Sustainability category, projects may date between 1 October 2000 and 30 September 2007, provided evidence of ongoing sustainability can be provided.
