O2: It's Your Community

The programme provides grants of ?100 to ?1,000 to individuals and groups to improve their local environment through the following four themes:Community Places - Improving the places communities share Community People - Helping bring people together Community Pride - Tackling issues head on and restoring a sense of pride Community Landscape - Improving communities' natural environments The scheme is administered by the Conservation Foundation on behalf of O2. Community Radio Fund
Applications are now being invited under the latest round of the Community Radio Fund.Community radio stations are not-for-profit stations with a social purpose, and work to involve the target community in running the service. This Fund has been established to help fund the core costs of running a community radio station. The minimum grant which can be applied for is ?5,000. Only community radio licensees are eligible to apply. The deadline for the receipt of applications is 20 November 2007. Visit:

Old Possum's Practical Trust

Seeks to increase knowledge and appreciation of any matters of historic, artistic, architectural, aesthetic, literary, musical or theatrical interest. Opportunities for Volunteering 2009-2012 Grants Round Open

The Opportunities for Volunteering (OFV) scheme aims to enable local voluntary sector health and social care organisations in England to involve volunteers in their work.Approximately ?6.7 million per year is available through OFV, and this is distributed via 16 national charities, referred to as 'national agents'. Volunteering England is one such agent, and aims to fund projects that involve volunteers in the following types of health and social care activities: Grants of ?10,000 to ?40,000 per year are available for a three year period. Voluntary sector organisations (including self-help groups, community and not-for-profit groups and registered charities) are eligible to apply. The deadline for the receipt of preliminary applications is 29 August 2008. The other 15 charities involved in this scheme (which include, for example, MIND, MENCAP, Age Concern England and SCOPE) operate to their own priorities and deadlines; further information is available in the GRANTfinder report on this scheme.
