Holidays for Children
Organises seaside holidays for disadvantaged children, working in partnership with schools and a wide range of community and childcare organisations. Gay Men
Small grants of up to ?5000 are available for gay community groups and networks of gay men to undertake projects that reduce HIV transmission, build the gay community and support the health and well-being of HIV positive gay men. Closing date for applications is August 31st each year. Mini grants of up to ?500 are also available at any time throughout the year. Help and support is available to fill in the application form. Hedgcock Bequest

Funding for Community Groups
This charitable trust administered by Brighton and Hove City Council is open to small community groups who experience difficulty in accessing other funding. Awards are generally around ?500. HEI Revolving Green Fund

The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), in partnership with Salix Finance, are currently developing a Revolving Green Fund to help higher education institutions (HEIs) in England to cut their 'greenhouse gas' emissions, including carbon dioxide.Both HEFCE and Salix Finance intend to commit significant funds to the new programme, and it is envisaged that the Fund will total around ?30 to ?40 million over a three-year period beginning 2008/09. The transformational fund will be for HEIs to tackle larger projects which will transform an HEI's approach to managing its energy consumption and reducing its emissions. The transformational fund might consider applications in the region of ?1 to 4 million per institution where those institutions will lead the way and act as beacons of good practice for others to appreciate what can be achieved in this area. The proposals are currently open to consultation with a deadline for responses of 21 April 2008. HEIs wishing to to join programme may submit an Expression of Interest at any time.

Help the Hospices

Carers Seedcorn Grants Programme
Aims to 'kick start' or pilot new initiatives to support people who provide unpaid care for terminally ill family or friends. Projects should address the challenges faced by carers of the terminally ill in a creative and innovative way. Grants (?1,500 - ?5,000) only available to independent voluntary hospices, one application per hospice.Deadline: 20th April 2007

Help the Hospices - Income Generation Grants

Grants of between ?2,000 and ?10,000 are available to hospices to support creative and innovative income-generation initiatives. These might include: a new type of fundraising event; an innovative way of increasing sales of a hospice lottery; and an innovative use of new media in income generation e.g. websites or e-marketing.The total budget available is ?50,000 and it is anticipated that five projects will be funded. The deadline for applications is 30 April.

Operated by Save the Children and British Gas, the awards are open to young people linked to adult led organisations and organisations that work with young people.

Heritage Lottery Fund

In view of the impact of the Olympics on the future income of the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), this funder has introduced changes to its application procedures.The new HLF online pre-application advice forms and application forms are now available for the following programmes. Heritage Grants (grants of ?50,000 or more) - Although there is still a two stage application process, stage one is simpler and the turnaround time scheduled to be quicker (three months). There will also be no project development grants under the new scheme. HLF will start assessing first-round applications under the new programme in September 2008 and will make its first decisions in December 2008. Bids over ?5m will be assessed once a year (30 September). Your Heritage (grants of between ?3,000-?50,000) - The minimum grant has been lowered and the application guidance revised. Young Roots (grants of between ?3,000-?25,000 for young people celebrating heritage) - The minimum grant has been lowered, the age group widened (up to 25 years of age) and the application guidance revised. It is also still possible to apply under the old rules and procedures for the Your Heritage or Young Roots grant schemes until 30 June 2008.

Heritage Lottery Fund - Collecting Cultures

?3 million investment to fund programmes of strategic acquisition that will develop existing museums and gallery collections for public use, and enhance the professional knowledge and skills of people working in museums and galleries. Grants of between ?50,000 and ?200,000 are available to all museums and galleries in the MLA Registration/Accreditation Scheme through a single round of applications. Heritage Lottery Fund - Your Heritage

Grants from ?5,000 to ?50,000. Projects should either:- conserve and enhance diverse heritage or - encourage communities to identify, look after and celebrate their heritage. The project must also: - increase opportunities for learning about heritage; and open up heritage resources and sites to the widest possible audiences. These can include caring for the natural landscape, conserving historic buildings, places and objects, involving people in exploring local cultures, traditions, languages and ways of life. Visit:

Hilton in the Community Foundation

Makes grants to a wide range of charities and organisations working with young people, in education and health or disaster relief. Awards of up to ?50,000. Applications have to be made via email as well as in writing and project must start within six months of grant offer. HMRC Grant in Aid Programme

This ?1.5m scheme is operated by Her Majesty?s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) and is aimed at funding voluntary and community sector organisations.Funding will support VCS organisations who want to increase their role in public service delivery, particularly socially inclusive services to those who are hard to reach or who do not engage directly with them. Grants range from ?5,000 - ?20,000 (local projects), ?20,0001 - ?80,000 (larger areas) and ?80,000 - ?250,000 (national projects). Connected Fund
Aims of the Connected Fund:To support locally managed community groups tackling gun and knife crime and gang culture in their local areas To kick-start new initiatives and boost on-going projects in those areas most affected by gun and knife crime To help with capacity building for community based grassroots organisations For Round 6 of the Fund, the focus is on activities that tackle gang issues. Victims Fund
The Victims Fund supports the development of community based services for victims of sexual offending. ?1.25m is available for the 2007/08 financial year to continue developing the capacity and stability of existing voluntary and community sector (VCS) support services for victims of sexual violence and abuse. Supporting Victims of Hate Crime
The Government has placed ?250,000 into the Victims Fund to develop support for victims of hate crime for the 2007/08 financial year. The grant scheme is open to any organisation in England and Wales with experience and expertise in working with victims of hate crime. This includes organisations in the voluntary sector and statutory bodies such as community safety partnerships. The European Integration Fund is aimed at legally newly-arrived migrants (ie within the last five years) who are not asylum seekers/ refugees, EU or EEA nationals, and who have not come to the UK under visa categories such as students.Funding is offered for a period of three years; projects are expected to find at least 50% match funding and projects must begin no later than 31 December 2007.
