SEIF

Round two of this Fund is now open to applications. The government defines a social enterprise as 'a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are principally reinvested for that purpose in the business or the community, rather than being driven by the need to maximise profit for shareholders and owners'. In 2008/09, ?11 million capital and ?6 million revenue funding is available. There is no minimum amount of funding an organisation can apply for, but there is a maximum any one investment of ?10,000,000. Previous applicants to SEIF may reapply. The deadline for the receipt of applications is 31 July 2008.
