Sea Change: Coastal Resorts

Sea Change is a three year ?45m programme that will provide funding for the economic regeneration of coastal areas through specific investment in culture and heritage. The scheme is managed by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE).As part of the first round of funding three towns including Dover will benefit from up to ?4m each for cultural and heritage projects. In addition, the scheme will provide up to 12 smaller grants ranging from ?200,000-?1m to other coastal areas via an open application programme. All bids must be led by local authorities (County/District) will require business and project management plans and will also need to show that they can find match funding of at least 50% to qualify for a grant (includes in-kind). Any coastal resort with a cultural project that would be a catalyst for regeneration can apply for this funding. Each local authority is limited to one bid per bidding round and the deadline for bids for the first round is 30 June 2008.
