The Royal Institute of British Architecture (RIBA) has once again launched its Call for Entries to the RIBA Awards for 2008. RIBA Awards, launched in 1966, are given for buildings that have high architectural standards and make a substantial contribution to the local environment. They celebrate the very best of British architecture both regionally and internationally.Prizes from the different awards vary from plaques and certificates to cash prizes of up to ?20,000. The Awards follow a pyramid structure as follows:
It is expected that all applications will be designed by an architect who is a chartered member of RIBA , RIAS or RSUA; or by an architectural practice, at least one of whose full-time principals is a chartered member of those institutions; or by an architect who is an International (honorary) Fellow of the RIBA.
The deadline for submission of entries is 21 February 2008.
