International Polartec Challenge

This is an international scheme that supports the spirit and practice of outdoor adventure. It assists frugal, low impact expedition/adventure teams that respect the local culture and environment and serve as role models to outdoor enthusiasts worldwide. Awards are financial and/or product and can range from $2,000-$8,000 (approximately ?1,000-?4,000).The Challenge supports diverse, self-propelled expeditions and journeys to remote locations of the world. Applications are evaluated on the basis of their vision, commitment and credibility. Prior winners have explored mountains, forests, caves, rivers, oceans and deserts around the globe in many different ways. The final date for applications is 15 September 2008. Winners will be announced on 1 December 2008.
