HEI Revolving Green Fund
HEI Revolving Green Fund
The Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), in partnership with Salix Finance, are currently developing a Revolving Green Fund to help higher education institutions (HEIs) in England to cut their 'greenhouse gas' emissions, including carbon dioxide. Both HEFCE and Salix Finance intend to commit significant funds to the new programme, and it is envisaged that the Fund will total around ?30 to ?40 million over a three-year period beginning 2008/09.
The transformational fund will be for HEIs to tackle larger projects which will transform an HEI's approach to managing its energy consumption and reducing its emissions. The transformational fund might consider applications in the region of ?1 to 4 million per institution where those institutions will lead the way and act as beacons of good practice for others to appreciate what can be achieved in this area.
The proposals are currently open to consultation with a deadline for responses of 21 April 2008.
HEIs wishing to to join programme may submit an Expression of Interest at any time.
