Following a Government announcement that each child (aged 0-19) in England should be offered at least five hours of high quality culture per week, in and out of school, Expressions of Interest are invited from partnerships of organisations wishing to explore how this could be achieved.A total of ten local area pilots will be supported at a rate of up to ?2.5 million each for a three year period (1 April 2008 to 31 March 2011). As a minimum, all partnerships are expected to include the local authority (or authorities if covering a wider area), the local Music Service and all appropriate cultural institutions and specialist schools.
