Faiths in Action Fund Opens to Applications Today

The first round of the Faiths in Action fund was launched today. A total of ?4 million has been allocated to the programme to support the Government's aspiration to help faith communities and others to promote understanding, dialogue, and develop strong and sustainable partnerships.There will be two rounds of funding: Round 1: Grants of up to ?12,000 will be on offer to be spent between April 2009 and the end of March 2011. Round 2: It is expected that grants of up to ?2,500 will be available, to be spent in one year from April 2010 to the end of March 2011. The Fund concentrates on the four key priorities set out in the Government's framework Face to Face and Side by Side: A framework for partnership in our multi-faith society. The deadline for receipt of Round 1 applications is 1 November 2008.
