Family Pathfinders Project: Imminent Deadline
The Family Pathfinders and Extended Pathfinders for Young Carers project, announced in Aiming High for Children: Supporting Families, has been launched.The programme is expected to support between 12 and 15 Family Pathfinders with a total of ?13 million funding for a period of three years to enable approaches to become fully embedded. Each pathfinder will receive funding of up to ?780,000 for the three-year period: up to ?180,000 in financial year 2008-09, up to ?300,000 in 2009-10 and up to ?300,000 in 2010-11. A further total of ?3 million will be available for the Extended Family Pathfinder for Young Carers component of the work. These areas will each receive up to an additional ?400,000 over the three-year period: up to ?92,500 in year one, up to ?146,500 in year two, and up to ?161,000 in year three. Local authorities in England, with their partners (eg the third sector, schools, anti-social behaviour teams, Learning and Skills Councils etc.), are invited to apply to become a Family Pathfinder.
